Nash, Herbstreit tend bar at Park Street Patio
Blue Jackets captain Rick Nash scored a late goal against the Blackhawks April 8, forcing overtime and leading to a 4-3 win for Columbus. With the victory, the Jackets secured their first playoff berth in franchise history.
It's been a busy week for Nash. Just seven days ago, he and his teammate, Mike Commodore, were among the guest charity bartenders at Park Street Patio on April 2, joining former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit. Also at the party were several Blue Jackets cheerleaders and WNCI DJ Jimmy Jam.
The event was held to raise money for "Get Behind the Badge" and "Columbus Police Baseball." Commodore, Herbstreit and Nash all had jerseys auctioned off to benefit those organizations. Commodore's jersey went for $500, purchased by Jenny Locsey. Herbstreit's went for $1,300, purchased by Jeff Kirkbride. And Nash actually bought his own jersey, paying $2,200 for it.
