Wexner's summer of movies
Wexner's summer of movies
Wexner Center for the Arts kicked off their popular "Wex Drive-In Outdoor Film Fest," in its fourth year, on June 18. Hosting 2,000 participants last summer, the festival features three free evenings of big-screen entertainment.
Catch the last drive-in screening of the year Aug. 20, with "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" as the feature film.
Movies typically start at dusk (around 9 p.m.), but the party starts at 8 p.m. with free popcorn, Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream and a cash bar. If it rains, the screening will move inside to the Wexner Center Film/Video Theater.
Wexner also presented "Soundtrack Available: Music in American Film," their indoor summer film series, which runs until Aug. 27. The series features movies with influential or memorable soundtracks. Each week the films will be screened as double features (except on the last night) on Thursdays at 7 p.m. The last two of the summer are "Easy Rider," set for Aug. 20, and "Magnolia" on Aug. 27. Tickets are $7 for general public and $5 for Wexner members.
