Golden Globe winner predictions
Best actor in a motion picture, drama
George Clooney, "The Descendants"; Leonardo DiCaprio, "J. Edgar"; Michael Fassbender, "Shame"; Ryan Gosling, "The Ides of March"; Brad Pitt, "Moneyball"
Geoff says: Most of the major critics awards went to Pitt or Fassbender, and a Globe for either one would not be surprising. But two-time Globe winner George Clooney [pictured] is another good bet, and his unexpected best director nomination for "Ides of March" reinforces his status as a voters' favorite.
Amir says: Clooney, Gosling, DiCaprio, Fassbender *and* Pitt?! This year's 'Best Actor' category is a battle of the silver screen's heartthrobbiest heartthrobs, but no amount of laughable age make-up (*cough* "J. Edgar" *cough*) can distract from George Clooney, who gives arguably his strongest performances to date in "The Descendants."
