Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia paid a return visit to Broadway last weekend, and as the New York Times reports, they all had a swell time -- despite a small scare.

Saturday night the girls found the first lady and a friend attending the Tony-winning revival of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, and lavishing cast members with praise backstage after the performance. The girls, meanwhile, checked out Sister Act, and also got a behind-the-scenes meeting, with star Raven-Symone.

On Sunday afternoon, mom and kids were reunited for a matinee performance of the hit Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. A bomb scare, not thought to be related to the Obamas' presence, was dismissed after police and Secret Service agents searched a theatergoer's bags and found nothing fishy. Mrs. Obama had an aisle seat where one of the numerous flying Spideys often lands during the show; one, played by dancer Christopher Tierney, offered an impromptu salute to the first lady, who laughed and waved.
