•One door in the Bachelor franchise closes, and another opens: Bachelor Pad (ABC, tonight, 8 ET/PT). And people say network creativity is dead.

•Of course, there's nothing particularly original about The Closer (TNT, 9 ET/PT) either, and there never has been. But it does have one asset no reality show can match: Kyra Sedgwick as Brenda, who tonight hunts down the killer of a cancer doctor.

Losing this show will hardly be the worst blow viewers have ever suffered, but losing Sedgwick as a TV regular? That's going to be hard to take.

•Syfy's best series, and one of summer's more entertaining shows, Warehouse 13 (9 ET/PT) returns tonight with a good if more somber than usual outing.

Then again, the show couldn't exactly come back on an up note, could it, considering how it left us: with the warehouse destroyed and a host of major characters dead.

Warehouse is, after all, a continuing series, which means it does find a way — and a clever one, at that — to pull itself back from that brink tonight. But not entirely, and not without putting a few more folks we know, and a few more we don't, at risk.
