•Encore's month o' 007 ends tonight with the film that many consider the best Bond of all, Goldfinger (8 ET/PT), starring the best Bond of all, Sean Connery.

Certainly it's the film that set the girls-and-gadgets pattern the series would follow for decades — though few have ever had as clever a caper, as instantly recognizable a theme song, or, in Honor Blackman, as fabulous a Bond girl.

Obviously, if you own the film on DVD or are willing and able to download it, you can watch it whenever you want. But there's still some pleasure to be had in the serendipity of having it show up on the schedule right at a time when you're in the mood to watch it.

•NBC, of course, has another night of the Summer Olympics (8 ET/PT). But if that doesn't appeal, HGTV has a competition of another sort, Design Star All Stars (9 ET/PT).

This competition also has the benefit of being relatively fast, at least in TV terms: It only lasts four episodes.

•Multiple numbers come up in a Person of Interest repeat (CBS, 10 ET/PT) from December that helped reset the series' interpersonal dynamics. And it's all because of a few decisions Carter makes.
