Things are getting hot in Catching Fire. Hunky model and actor Alan Ritchson has been cast as the tribute Gloss in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Ritchson has worked as an Abercrombie and Fitch model as well as starring in the CBS comedy pilot Super Fun Night and Spike TV's Blue Mountain State.
He even appeared as Aquaman on the CW's Smallville, which will no doubt serve him well in the arena.
"No words can express," Ritchson wrote on his Twitter page on Thursday. "To have the opportunity to portray Gloss in (The Hunger Games). To be part of this great trilogy...just...so.. grateful."
Ritchson frequently shows off some monster abs in his modeling and acting roles, despite admitting on Twitter, "that I live next to a donut shop."
As a contestent on American Idol in 2004, he wowed judge Paula Abdul with a strip tease. That kind of behavior will definitely win favor at The Capitol.
Shooting for the film begins next month.
