Chad Ochocinco Johnson's new wife is speaking out in the wake of the head-butting incident that cost the NFL star his job with the Miami Dolphins, as well as his VH1 show, Ev and Ocho.
"It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles," she says.
"Domestic violence is not OK and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I'm grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time."
Meanwhile, Lozado is grieving today. Her brother-in-law, Anthony Ochoa, died Monday night at age 43, from complications stemming from cancer, according to VH1. Ochoa, who was married to Evelyn's sister Sylvia, walked Lozado down the aisle on July 4, when she married Johnson and was to be featured on the show. He appeared several times on Basketball Wives over the past two seasons.
