SJP: 'SATC' like HBO's 'Girls'? Sure.

Sarah Jessica Parker tells The Hollywood Reporter that she can certainly see some parallels between her iconic HBO series Sex and the City and new kid on the block Girls.
"It's a very different show," she says. "But the similarity is in the intimacy of the conversations among women."
The actress sat down with THR as one of the mag's Emmy Icons. She took home a statue in 2004 after five previous nominations. She says that winning was "the perfect punctuation point for what was an extraordinary experience."
And, despite the way her small-screen alter ego Carrie Bradshaw transformed fans' relationship with fashion, Parker insists that, for her, the show was about so much more than that.
"What was unique and special was that the language was so new -- and I don't mean the salty, ribald, provocative stuff. A woman like Carrie was unlikable to many people in terms of how she spent her time, how she spent her money, her personal choices about children and marriage and affairs. But there was a human-ness to her that people connected to."
