TV tonight: 'Big Bang,' 'Grey's'

The Big Bang Theory
CBS, 8 ET/PT
Emmy giveth, and Emmy taketh away. Many people thought the race for best actor would come down to either Jim Parsons -- who returns tonight in CBS' funniest sitcom, the Emmy-nominated Big Bang -- or Louis C.K., who exits later tonight in the season finale of the should-have-been-Emmy-nominated Louie (FX, 10 ET/PT). Instead, the acting prize went to Jon Cryer for CBS' Two and a Half Men (8:30 ET/PT), which also begins its season tonight. Watch all three and see if you think the voters got it right.
ABC, 9 ET/PT
As season finales go, that was quite the intense shocker over at Grey's, with people dying and careers left in jeopardy. Whatever happens tonight, what that episode proved was there's still life left in Grey's -- proof that has yet to be supplied by its returning night-mate, Scandal (10 ET/PT). In last year's shortened run, Scandal was able to push past bad casting and mediocre writing through sheer, over-the-top plot momentum. Can a new plot pull off the same trick? We'll see.
Person of Interest
CBS, 9 ET/PT
CBS has its own cliffhanger to resolve, as Person returns with Finch in the kidnapping hands of Root -- played by Angel's Amy Acker. While Reese, Carter and Fusco try to find him (and making Carter a part of the team was one of Person's best moves), a number comes up on a new person of interest, played by Lost's Ken Leung.
