The third-season opener of AMC's The Walking Dead set records, drawing 10.9 million viewers in its initial Sunday telecast and 7.3 million adults 18 to 49.
Both results were records for the series, and were up about 50% from last season's opener.
Among adults, the episode outranked nearly all broadcast TV series, based on initial ratings. And among total viewers, Dead set a record for most-watched drama episode on basic cable. Look for the numbers to grow further once DVR data is available.
