'Bachelor' ex confirms she's dating Arie, bashes Ben
Posted November 7, 2012
Former Bachelor contestant Courtney Robertson is not sitting by the phone waiting for her ex Ben Flajnik to call. In fact, the California-based model has moved on with a guy who probably understands her better than most.
A few weeks after she was spotted smoochingBachelorette contestant Arie Luyendyk Jr., Robertson has confirmed that the two are an item. (Luyendyk was one of the last men standing while vying for the heart of Emily Maynard, who recently ended her engagement to victor Jef Holm).
"Yes, I'm dating Arie," Robertson reveals in an exclusive chat with Life & Style. "We're enjoying our time together."
And it sounds like she's not missing Flajnik at all. They split less than a month ago, but she says the decision to end it was a no-brainer for her. "I was miserable with Ben; he treated me so badly," she laments.
A big stumbling block was Flajnik's reluctance to commit, she says. When she pushed the issue of moving from Santa Monica to San Francisco to be closer to him, she says he shot it down. "He was all like, 'I just turned 30, and I'm not ready.' "
For those questioning her decision to move on so quickly, Robertson concedes that things with Luyendyk happened fast, but says she's cool with it.
"I didn't want to jump from one public relationship to another, but Arie and I get along, and I'm not going to let that get away," she says.
Plus, things aren't all that serious between them right now anyway since she says they aren't exclusive yet. But Robertson seems to be enjoying the ride. "Arie makes me laugh so hard, and he's adorable, so I'm going with it."
Update: Well. that didn't take long. Ben Flajnik has his own opinion on Courtney and Arie's budding relationship. In his own interview with Life & Style, Flajnik says he's disappointed that his ex decided to move on so quickly. "I don't know what to make of it. The way she handled it wasn't in the best taste," he says frankly.
And even worse, he says, he had to hear it through the grapevine. "I'm not really one to stay up on gossip, but my sister keeps me in the loop," he says. "All of my friends were really surprised and disappointed. (Courtney) knew them all."
And, to add insult to injury, Flajnik says he and Luyendyk had started to form a friendship before all this. "I thought I knew him," Flajnik says of Luyendyk. "He came up to Sonoma and we hung out for a few days. He seemed like a really nice guy."
