A new NCIS team is starting to take shape.

John Corbett, the Northern Exposure and Sex and the City alum, will star in two March episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles that will serve as a potential spinoff of a third series in CBS' powerhouse NCIS franchise.

The episodes will feature a small, mobile team of NCIS agents who live and work together as they travel the country investigating crimes. The episodes will run March 19 and 26 (9 p.m. ET/PT).

Corbett, more recently seen in Parenthood, will play analyst Roy Quaid, a former NCIS special agent forced to retire from active service. He is the most experienced investigator working for Red Team.

NCIS: Los Angeles was introduced during two episodes of NCIS before being launched as its own series.
