New York Fashion: DVF showers collection with 'glam rock'
Posted February 10, 2013
You know you've had a good Sunday when you're able to witness Diane von Furstenberg strut down her own runway singing and dancing along to Chaka Khan's I'm Every Woman.
That's exactly what the iconic designer did after showing her "glam rock" collection, which was full of her signature prints, pops of candy color and sexy silhouettes.
In the show notes, DVF described the girl she's dressing as a woman "with an effortless glamour (who) winks at herself and smiles at her shadow."
The patterns from the collection ranged from an open chain link to abstract florals to sexy animal prints. A standout piece was a colorblocked plum, rose and purple crepe jumpsuit with a keyhole and bold graphic design spreading across the chest.
DVF also played around with texture, showing fur, leather, chiffon, suede, silk and satin. The sexy maryjane heels also added an interesting texture note to the collection, as it came in hair calf, snake print, leather and suede.
