For those folks attending the SoHud Super Show at Skully’s Music Diner on Feb. 26, you can rest assured there won’t be a communication breakdown when local acts The Floorwalkers, Max Power Trio and Joey Hebdo share the stage for their own sets, as well as a Led Zeppelin tribute.
Founded just over a year ago, SoHud Music Collective is a unique free resource for local bands in Central Ohio. The non-profit organization provides bands PR services for booking, press and general promotions with a mission statement simply to create a spirit of community for the purpose of building a better local music scene. In doing so, the entity holds a quarterly show to showcase its existing talent.
We talked with SoHud Music Collective Promotions Manager Kim Tobias, a Mansfield native and 2008 Ohio University grad, about her organization, this upcoming show and why the music of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and company will be spotlighted.

So what exactly is the goal of the SoHud Super Show?
SoHud Collective is an organization put together for grassroots help with local bands getting more publicity, getting more shows and getting more popular. So the three bands—The Floorwalkers, Max Power Trio and Joey Hebdo—are all playing individual sets with a tribute at the end of the night.
How long have the SoHud Super Shows taken place?
We do a show a quarter. We try to get all of the bands together for at least one show at least every three months. This is our fourth show over the last year. Our last show was in September on Labor Day Weekend. It was a beach theme. Because it was almost fall, we wanted to celebrate summer and go out jamming.
Have any of the bands on the upcoming bill played a SoHud Super Show before?
Both The Floorwalkers and the Max Power Trio have. Now Joey Hebdo is our newest member. He’s been a part of the collective for a couple of months. We’re helping him to do some promotion for individual touring, and this is his first Super Show with us. All of the acts on the SoHud Super Show are the only members right now of SoHud.
So why Led Zeppelin?
Because we are all fans. I think we did a seasonal theme before and got a great response, so we just thought we should give a tribute to one of the greatest bands that has ever existed and also see how that works in bringing in a different crowd. A lot of the music you’ll be hearing is very soul, rock ’n’ roll. There are all different types of eclectic music involved, and we really wanted to see what it would be like to have a specific theme rather than just a beach party.
Finally, any hints on what we may be hearing at this end-of-the-evening ZOSO tribute?
You’ll have to wait and find out. But I can tell you there won’t be “Stairway to Heaven.”
The SoHud Super Show-Led Zeppelin Tribute, featuring The Floorwalkers, The Max Power Trio and Joey Hebdo, takes place at 8 p.m. Feb. 26 at Skully’s Music Diner, 1151 N. High St. Cover is $7. For more information, call 614-291-8856 or visit www.skullys.org
