Inside look: TerrorFest opening night
We took a test run through one of Columbus' best new and improved haunted attractions, TerrorFest (formerly House of Nightmares), for its soft opening. Owners Dave Treisch, a locally based haunted house entrepreneur, and Steve Kopelman, owner of HauntedHouse.com, have refit the Brewery District location with a $250,000 makeover. Complete with high tech hydraulics, elaborate sets and 65 actors in full gory costumes and makeup.
The haunted attraction features two houses in one for a $17 fee ($27 for VIP). First up is the House of Nightmares, under the original name but with totally new digs, followed by the equally horrific Brewery Butcher. If you’re a horror film or Halloween nut, we definitely suggest you give TerrorFest a shot. The experience from start to finish is just like being dropped in the middle of a horror flick. We have to admit, we let out a few yelps (well, maybe more then a few). Head over to the TerrorFest Web site for tickets.
