Currently on loan from the Ohio Historical Society's National Afro-American Museum & Cultural Center in Wilberforce, Ohio, a vast and incisive exhibition called "Soul!" recently made its Columbus debut at the Ohio Historical Society's primary location.
Composed of a diverse assembly of 120 pieces that touches on subjects like slavery, civil rights, poverty, heritage, and nationalism, "Soul!" uses art to delve into the cross-cultural framework of the African-American identity.
Metromix spoke to Connie Bodner, Director of Education and Interpretation Services for the Ohio Historical Society, about the show that she has curated and what can be found at the exhibit until its Feb. 28, 2010, closing.—By Reyan Ali, Special to Metromix
