Kings of Leon play The Schott
The meteoric rise to fame Kings of Leon has experienced this year is pretty epic. Bands don't get this popular overnight, but the Kings somehow found a way to do it in a few months.
For years, the Southern rock group has had a loyal following—one that has been gaining steam ever since the group's debut album, "Youth and Young Manhood," in 2003. But the Kings' fourth album, "Only By the Night," put them into a new stratosphere. With hits like "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody," it turned them into a group that gets major radio play on every station from CD101 to WNCI.
Earlier this year, the Kings played an indoor show at the LC Pavilion. Granted, it was a sold-out concert, and tickets were going for double their face value on the streets outside, but still, the capacity at the LC Pavilion is 2,200. They went from playing for that crowd to playing the Schottenstein Center in less than a year. Also this summer, they headlined Lollapalooza, which drew 75,000 fans.
Their gig Sept. 23 at The Schott proved they're deserving of the attention. They're not always the most energetic band on stage, but they play their songs to perfection, keeping their fans moving from start to finish.
Check out all out photos from the show, then take a look at some of our other concert galleries, featuring bands like The Flaming Lips, Incubus, The Killers and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
