Them Crooked Vultures at the LC Pavilion
A lot of supergroups aren't really that super. Them Crooked Vultures, on the other hand, is about as super a supergroup as you can get.
The band features the bassist from Led Zeppelin (John Paul Jones), the drummer from Nirvana (Dave Grohl) and the singer/guitarist from Queens of the Stone Age (Josh Homme). You can't create a much better lineup than that.
The Vultures just formed this year, playing their first gig in August, and they made Columbus one of a select few cities included on a short tour.
Touring without an opening band, Jones, Grohl and Homme—along with guitarist Alain Johannes of the band Eleven—took the stage at the LC Pavilion a little before 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, and they put on a show that will be hard to forget. Even if you didn't know all the songs they were playing, the exceptional drumming and guitar play kept your head moving to the beat.
Check out all the photos from the concert to get an up-close-and-personal look at the band, then check out some of out other recent galleries, featuring acts like the Kings of Leon, The Flaming Lips, Creed and all the bands at CD101 SummerFest.
