Jack's Mannequin comes to The LC Pavilion
In case you’ve been living in a cave (or still listening to CDs), rock music is once again tickling the ivory. One of the newer acts leading the piano-rock movement is Jack’s Mannequin, which originally was a side project of pop-punk act Something Corporate’s Andrew McMahon.
Today, along with The Fray and Keane, Jack’s Mannequin is garnering tons of press and critical acclaim, which began with its 2005 debut, “Everything in Transit,” and continues on its follow-up, 2008’s “The Glass Passenger.”
It’s been quite a journey for McMahon, who not only left behind Something Corporate for greener pastures with his new act but also survived a battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Metromix talked to McMahon about growing up in Bexley, whether or not piano rock is officially back and what fans can expect at the Jack's Mannequin show at the LC Pavilion on April 14.
