William Elliot Whitmore, Frontier Ruckus at The Basement
Michigan five-piece folk act Frontier Ruckus got the show May 11 at The Basement off to a good start, playing a 40-minute set that had the crowd moving. In addition to the traditonal guitar, bass and drum set, Frontier Ruckus also utilized a banjo, a trumpet and even a saw.
Then headliner William Elliott Whitmore took the stage, with his commanding voice (not to mention his skills on the banjo and guitar) winning over the audience. All alone on stage, Whitmore proved he didn't need a backing band to be successful.
