Basi Italia offers an intimate New York City dining experience with an Italian overtone. The small interior’s seating chart accommodates less than 30 people, so be sure to call ahead or visit the restaurant's Web site for reservations before stopping in. The streamlined menu is very much contemporary Italian, featuring roasted mussels, saute of zucchini, mustard-crusted trout and eggplant Parmesan. Of course, an Italian restaurant wouldn’t be special without an extensive wine list, which Basi has in spades.
