Zpizza, a pizza shop in the Short North Arts District on High Street, serves contemporary cuisine with a health-conscious mindset that any pizza lover can appreciate. This chain restaurant launched in Laguna Beach, California in 1986 "to create a pizza that was lighter, healthier, delicious & creative;" a motto that has transposed to their one and only Ohio location. The pies at Zpizza have a crisp, flaky crust - available in regular and wheat varieties - that is smothered in 100 percent certified organic tomato sauce, sprinkled with award-winning Wisconsin low-fat mozzarella and dripping with fresh and natural ingredients ranging from button mushrooms to bell peppers. They also serve an array of salads, pastas, rustica pizzas and sandwiches, all for a reasonable price. The bistro offers online ordering, take-out, delivery, catering and dine-in options, with pizza by the slice available if you stop into the shop, which is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. This new-age pizza place is taking the traditional pizza to new levels by creating a healthier, more refined product that is strikingly tasty and exploding with fresh flavors.
