Lotus Grill is conveniently located next to Marcus Cinema at Crosswoods, easily accessible for those who work close by, or those rushing to get to a movie on time. Though the restaurant is primarily a Chinese takeout, the menu is a bit more varied than the standard options. You will find all of your traditional favorites alongside a few more unique Thai dishes and chef’s specials.
A small but comfortable dining area provides booths and tables for those who want to sit and enjoy their meal. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive, so this is great deal for anyone on a budget.
Food: Diners will agree that this is Americanized Chinese/Thai cuisine, but it is delicious nonetheless, and it's higher quality than most takeout restaurants. The meals are flavorful but not overly salty, and the Thai dishes offer a few healthier choices that you typically won’t find from a competitor. Some of the most popular meals here are Honey Chicken, Singapore Noodles, pad-Thai and spicy Kung Pao Chicken. There also is a selection of tofu-based dishes for vegetarian diners.
Drinks: The beverage options are limited to water or fountain Pepsi products, but the sizes are generous.
Décor: Lotus Grill has a simple, no-frills design. You can choose from high tables with stools in the front of the restaurant, or you can sit at the row of booths down the back hallway. There is one larger dining table with standard chairs for parties of six or more. Everything is very clean, but don’t expect much of an atmosphere.
Crowd: Local businesspeople occupy the restaurant from noon to 1:30 p.m. on standard weekdays, but it usually isn’t difficult to find an empty table. The service is fast, so crowds rotate in and out quickly. If you can’t find a place to sit, you can always opt for takeout.
Service: Fast and friendly is the name of the game here. You can expect to have your meal delivered to your table in about five minutes, and the servers will always come by to ask if you’re enjoying your food. Anything you need will be courteously brought to you within minutes of asking.
Bottom Line: If you want a quick, enjoyable meal for less than $10, Lotus Grill is the ideal place. It’s better than fast food, but still cheap, speedy and tasty.
