Sushi Bistro Masa is one of the few sushi restaurants in Columbus where you'll see an equal ratio of Japanese and American diners, and we think that's always a sign of true quality in a restaurant that specializes in Japanese fusion. With excellent entrees, unique and unusual beverage options and a sleek, modern design, this is one of the best options for sushi lovers in the Dublin area.

Food: Chef Masa and Akio's expertly prepared sushi rolls will certainly keep you coming back to the restaurant, but the full menu of entrees is equally impressive and offers a wide range of both common and unique Japanese dishes. Prices are fair considering that the food is fresh and high quality, but this isn't the cheapest sushi place in Columbus.

Apart from the many wonderful sushi rolls, customers' favorite dishes include the shrimp stuffed avocado, crab cake, seafood wonton soup, spicy sashimi salad, beef teriyaki, seafood tempura, and salmon teriyaki. You should also save room for dessert. The tempura ice cream provides a refreshing and delightful finish to your meal.

Libations: An extensive drink menu provides something to complement every entrée and quench every diner's thirst. Choose from Asian beers, sake, shochu (an ancient and unique traditional beverage similar to sake that can be made from barely, buckwheat, sweet potatoes or sugar), red wine, white wine, sparkling wine and a selection of specialty martinis. Nonalcoholic beverages include green tea, oolong tea, iced tea, Ramune, Panna, fruit juices and Pepsi soft drinks. We highly recommend the shochu, which is said to have many health benefits and rarely ever leave you with a hangover.

Décor: Sleek and contemporary, this elegant establishment provides a peaceful ambiance with minimal décor that is both tasteful and simplistic. The dining area is clean and spacious, a modern design that also feels traditional. A mounted, widescreen TV sits above the bar for those interested in following the daily news.

Crowd: The dining area is large enough to comfortably seat diners on even the busiest nights. There are two private, curtained rooms available to accommodate reservations from larger parties.

Service: The quiet, polite and attentive service complimented the relaxing ambiance of the restaurant. Our meals were served in a timely manner, and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.

Bottom line: For the very best of flavorful Japanese cuisine, tasty sake and perfectly prepared seafood, treat yourself to an evening at Sushi Bistro Masa.
