Walking into Molly Woo's Asian Bistro, a Cameron Mitchell creation, is a little jarring at first. The extreme red and green color palette and authentic statues and artifacts that line the walls hit you right in the face.

The general Asian splendor makes it seem like you've jet across the Atlantic to a trendy Chinese diner, which opens up into a spacious dining room with full bar attachment. But as the old saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. Molly Woo's upscale look doesn't exactly translate to the prices.

The menu features a ton of spicy delights. Located at Polaris Fashion Place, the restaurant's motto is "be creative, live long, be happy and follow your own path," which can definitely be an adage to the food, as there are plenty of choices for your own personal "path." And any meal can be spiced down or up to your liking.

For starters, you've got to try the famous Woo spring rolls. For your entrée, Woo's garlic chicken ($12.95), the Thai seafood medley with shrimp, scallops and calamari ($13.95) and the honey chicken ($12.95) are among "Molly's Favorites."

The main plates are separated by chicken, meat and seafood. Standouts include the pineapple chicken ($10.95), Mongolian garlic steak ($13.95) and the firecracker shrimp ($13.95) for the spice extremists among us.

Woo's also sports a full bar off the left of the entrance with a plethora of special drinks. The dragon punch ($7.95) is a definite delight—it's a Bacardi Silver Rum and raspberry juice concoction, garnished artistically with an orange peel and cherries. There's also a sizable list of wines by the glass or bottle, but the Woo bar is known mostly for its full list of premium sake. Another popular attraction is the “$4 after 4 p.m. special” on select specialty drinks during happy hour, from 4 to 7 p.m Monday to Friday.

The service at Woo's is close to impeccable. Draped in all black, the waiters are quick and efficient, and the open kitchen allows the chefs to be seen bopping about behind the scenes.

Bottom line, if you're looking for taste and class for a reasonable price, Molly Woo's is a good place to check out.
