In a time where Family owned restaurants are an endangered species, and several of our favorite local pizzerias have been run out or bought out of business by the big chains, The Pizza House still stands strong. They have been making the best pizza using the same recipes for the past 50 years. Generations of families have made it their favorite place to eat, because of the great food and "family style" atmosphere.

I had dinner there last night. The food was great! start with the tableside guacamole!! The margaritas were the best i have had in the area, and the service was excellent. I highly suggest a visit to Cantina Laredo to anyone seeking a great dining experience.

Definitely a place you have to check out if your in the area. The restaurant speaks for itself and the prices are moderate. I'll be back again.

Nubian330 wrote about Genji Japanese Steakhouse

Genji's is a ok place if you never have a problem with service or food. "The customer is always right" does NOT exist at Genji's. Anytime there is a problem you're just screwed the managers argue with you about your experience and the staff just blames the managers. I would NOT recommend Genji's they're over priced anyway and there are a ton of other "Japanese Steak Houses" in Columbus that serve the EXACT same thing. Genji's is too full of themselves they think they can treat their customers any kind of way and get away with it lets send a message to them that they need to respect the customer and realize we keep them in business!

shosh wrote about Basi Italia

I was quite hopeful when driving up to and going into Basi because it has a very charming hole in the wall look to it. I applaud the owners for giving it a nice cozy atmosphere, but in our case looks were deceiving. The wine list seemed pretty extensive, and we enjoyed both of our selections. For starters, my girlfriend has the wedge salad, which was average--nothing particularly special--while I had a decent tomato soup with some balsamic drizzle that gave it a nice sweetness. From here, the food all went downhill. My girlfriend had the eggplant parm which was lukewarm, undercooked (hard everywhere), soggy, and dripping from the oily pesto and excessive balsamic drizzle. I had the lobster with a very watery tomato-vodka sauce and overcooked linguine. The lobster was decent, but not enough to make up for the rest of the plate. It also seemed that microgreens and pea shoots were on sale the week we went, because both of our plates were covered with them as garnish. After the dismal entrees, we didn't want to risk anything further with desserts. I don't think I would have been as disappointed if the dinner didn't run on the wrong side of $70. Overall, I would suggest trading the ambiance to save your money by going to Olive Garden.

We returned the dried rotisserie chicken only to exchange for lamb schwarma that tasted and looked like shredded beef and not a good one! the veggies were loaded with salt. Tabouleh salad was a plate full of chopped parsley coverd in oil-YUCK!! And the little, should I say petite side salad was pathetic. Two full meals we dumped in the garbage-- Of course, we did clear our own table! On some positive note, the decor was cheerful

I found this gem quite by accident, could use a sign by the road. Anyway once inside it was very busy but I was seated without much wait. Since the first visit my family and I have been back many times, I highly recommend it

ChrisValentino wrote about Drelyse African Restaurant

I went to Tamarck Circle - because that's where I was told to go - but I was not told there are 2 African resturants in the neighborhood. I went to the other one (not Drelyse) and it was just ordinary. Several months passed and while entertaining a group of out-of-town guests, a trusted friend of mine highly recommended Drelyse - but I was not sure of what to expect. When I walked in there, the tables set with cutlery and napkins made a very good first impression. The curteous staff came up to me with the menu and came back a few minutes later to take my order. I chose to eat with my fingers and our server graciously offered to pour the water over my hands as I washed them. And I like the pitcher and the bowls for washing hands. The meal was great (I had banku with Okra), and my guests could not stop talking about how impressed they were. Suffice it to say, it's been less than a month since my initial trip to Drelyse and I have been there 2 additional times already. The experience has been great every time and I highly recommend Drelyse. It represents that African hospitality and excellence in service that will rival the likes of Golden Tulip or any first class restaurant in Accra.

Is this a review or a advertisement? I love the Metromix site for Chicago, the Columbus site pales in comparison.

lin's wok has great food at a great price. it is family owned and operated and has been in powell 14 years. the service is great and the food is even better. prices for lunch are around $5.00 while the dinner menu is around $9.00. it is completely run by just Lin and his wife and they do a fantastic job. calling ahead to place your order is usually the best idea. i recommend lin's wok to all my friends! i believe the site's review is horribly inaccurate.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of their free pizza night. I used to go there all the time and eat some pizza and some of those spicy peanuts. Sadly, I live a little too far north to go down there every Monday now, but it's a good time.

nsy82 wrote about Cafe Shish Kebab

After reading all the reviews for this place, I saw that there was no Turkish person that have written something. Here is something for those who value a Turkish Native's opinion. Let me first tell you this, I was born and raised in Turkey and I have been in the US for 9 yrs. Turkish people are definitely very picky when it comes to our own food. I had pleasure to eat at this place tonight and I will tell you what, it is the best Turkish Restaurant that I have eaten at in US. I ate in NY, Chicago, Milwaukee, DC, and some other smaller places.. Service: 5 star quality, family owned and 2 brothers operate this place and I am sure if you want to, you will meet them because they are running around to help each other and make sure customers get their food fast and most importantly RIGHT! Ambiance: Decorative, original and traditional. You would be upset if you are looking to get white walls with bunch of random pictures. Very good job, nice looking place. FOOD: Most important element. Better than most of the restaurants in Turkey! We had grape leaves, sigara boregi, lentil soup, iskender kebab and for desert, sutlac (Turkish style rice pudding). They were very tasty and the lamb is marinated for weeks. I cant describe the taste, go try it yourself! Price: For the experience, its worth it. 15-20 bucks per person with no drinks. It is authentic food, it is something Americans do not see everyday so do not worry about it and pay the price. :) Service: Very polite and professional, they will help you with your food choice and they will educate you if you needed to. They are prompt and arent trying to make you order more than you need or the most pricey food. It is about what you like and what you want in your stomach! Overall: I just moved to Columbus from Chicago, I just met these guys, I put the effort to write cause I believe how hard it is to satisfy people, especially in food business. These guys are doing a great job, I will definitely be back and I am a picky Turkish guy who enjoys his food..
