Ugh. I remember how happy I was when I heard Jay Leno was stepping down from hosting The Tonight Show. And I remember how betrayed I felt when I heard that this travesty was in the offing. Now, the dark day is at hand. The banality is taking its place in prime time. The spirit of Lawrence Welk lives.
